Obiettivi formativi del dottorato: Obiettivo primario del Dottorato di Ricerca in Ingegneria Elettrica e dell’Informazione è fornire ai dottorandi, oltre ad un’adeguata formazione professionale, una formazione di elevata qualità scientifica nelle tematiche di ricerca dell’Ingegneria Elettrica e dell’Informazione.
Il Corso di Dottorato di Ricerca punta soprattutto alla formazione di personale ad alta qualificazione da inserire nelle imprese operanti nel Mezzogiorno e nell’intero territorio nazionale, così come in un contesto internazionale. Esso include le seguenti macro-tematiche di ricerca: “Elettronica”, “Elettromagnetismo e Compatibilità Elettromagnetica”, “Telecomunicazioni”, “Automazione Industriale”, “Sistemi Informativi”, "Misure Elettriche ed Elettroniche", “Elettrotecnica”, “Convertitori, Macchine ed Azionamenti Elettrici”, “Sistemi Elettrici per l’Energia”. Il dottorato di ricerca si propone anche di integrare corsi di formazione, post lauream, di breve durata in maniera tale da risultare flessibile e adattabile alla crescente evoluzione della situazione mondiale sia nel campo della ricerca sia in quello della produzione di beni e servizi.
Sbocchi professionali e potenziali settori di impiego del dottorato di ricerca: I dottori di ricerca formati in questo Corso di Dottorato saranno in grado non solo di sapere, ma anche di saper fare, con riferimento essenzialmente ai seguenti profili professionali:
- ricercatori presso enti di ricerca pubblici e privati, o presso università italiane e straniere;
- ricercatori operanti in Consorzi per lo sviluppo e l'innovazione delle nuove tecnologie nella P.M.I.;
- consulenti professionali in specifici settori di ricerca;
- esperti nella realizzazione di sistemi hi-tech operanti nel mercato globale dell’Ingegneria Elettrica e dell’Informazione;
- esperti nelle aree di ricerca proposte per lo sviluppo di programmi di ricerca dell’Unione Europea ed, in particolare, nelle aree tecnologiche abilitanti (KET, Key Enabling Technologies);
- docenti a contratto presso istituzioni italiane e straniere.
Inoltre, i dottori di ricerca dovranno: a) coniugare l'attività di ricerca nell'area delle tecnologie avanzate dell'Ingegneria Elettrica e dell’Informazione, con riferimento alle esigenze specifiche del territorio e del Mezzogiorno; b) diffondere nella cultura imprenditoriale tecniche e processi della ricerca avanzata come valore aggiunto di prodotto; c) diffondere i principi della cultura dell'innovazione tecnologica; d) favorire l’adattamento ai mutamenti tecnologici ed economici nel breve e medio termine in settori produttivi strategici per l’economia locale e/o nazionale; e) contribuire al progresso della competitività del sistema sociale e produttivo locale.
